Malacca!

I was fortunate enough to follow my Design Studio class to Malacca over the past weekend to attend a "holiday cum assignment" trip. Well, before I left KL to Malacca, I was having my doubts after seeing pictures of the hotel we were supposed to stay in, Hotel Puri. I mean, come on, it looked SO rundown, that I was afraid there'd be a 400 year old monster or something!

We left PJ at around 9.40, and it took us VERY VERY long to reach Malacca! Once we did, there was only one thing in our mind,

CHICKEN RICE BALLS!!

We tried the stuff at a restaurant near a junction in Jonker Street. The rice was excessively starchy, and the chilli was, well, not chilli! The drinks were overpriced and the chicken was salty! Didn't enjoy the 'balls' at all! So for you avid readers of my blog, and food junkies all over the world, I'm gonna let you out on a little secret about the chicken rice balls shop.

DO NOT GO TO THE SHOP AT THE JUNCTION OF JONKER STREET!

Instead, go for the shop near the Malacca Bridge, opposite the Stadhuys building. The shop, is at the end of Jonker Street. Gosh, my mouth is watering even thinking about that shop. The chicken, ahhhh, so tender! The 'balls', ahhhh, so round~ LOL. We had lunch here on our second day in Malacca.

Well after eating the lousy chicken rice balls, we headed to another shop that sells something very very VERY tasty, and sweet, and, above all, THICK. Okay, don't be perverted!

ITS THE AUTHENTIC GULA MELAKA CENDOL! So blady thick and creamy! The price wasn't that bad, around RM1.70 per bowl. The soup mee sold at this shop is preety tasty too! This shop is along Jonker Street, you can't miss it, just look for the long line q-ing at the shop.

After eating, we were TOTALLY full. So we went back to our hotel, to have a short nap. Actually Hotel Puri is a classy, and dignified hotel. It's really cosy and has the cultural thing going on. Very nice place. So anyway, we decided to sleep, and get up by 7p.m.

Some people might already know, I take time to sleep. I have to find a cosy spot, make sure my head is tilted in the right angle, arms bend in the right way. It's real hard! So anyway, I did find sleep, and I was having a nice, real nice sleep!

Suddenly, someone shouted,

IT'S 5.30!

I got up immeadietly, thought it was some lecturer screaming. I looked around, my roommates were still sleeping. I was puzzled.

Suddenly the voice spoke again,

IT'S 5.30 DUDES!

Toby's sleeping and talking! =.=

Another funny story, while we were resting on the bed, suddenly there was a phone call. Daniel was SO excited to pick it up, he jumped on the bed, causing the reciever to jump up and back down, ending the phone call before he even picked it up. =.="

These are some random shots of Jonker Street, sorry I couldn't take much pics, cuz my camera's battery died, and there was no room for pictures. Damn! I want a dSLR!!

Sushi Stand, not mine, I mean, my assignment-al sushi stand. More info on this later.

Guy who sells old pictures for a living. This goes to show that if you have a dSLR, you can still survive by selling pictures!

Jonker Walk lame ass-ed, cheap, welcome board.

OMG, A fish climbing a pole! Its strip dancing!!
